Tailoring Centre

Tailoring is a conventional and easy way to earn a livelihood for the women in village areas, those who are educated or uneducated and irrespective of caste creed and religion. There is still a better scope for tailoring in the village sector. Women who are trained in tailoring will be given preference in marriage and moreover, they will be treated well by their laws, as she happened to be an earning member in the family. Many women in the villages, whether they are educated or uneducated, married or unmarried, staying idle at their house without doing anything after their household work has completed. They spend their time chit-chatting with their neighbors or watching T.V serials and thus consuming their valuable time and energy.

It was decided to give training to the women in tailoring and embroidery. The women beneficiaries should be married or unmarried should have completed their minimum standard of education and those who are eager to learn new techniques and methods of today’s lifestyle.  The women from all the target villages are being identified and they will be given training in Tailoring and embroidery. 20 women were selected for each batch and they have to be trained under this course for a minimum of two months. Until each and every person who attended the training should know how to cut and stitch the cloth according to the needs of the persons.

Only one woman from each village has been selected for the training, and the second one from that village will be selected for the next training. Thus all the women from all the villages are being selected and they will be given training in the prescribed time. This will help them to earn their livelihood apart from their husband’s earnings, thus they can able to lead a better a way of life, ahead of the remaining villagers those who are not able to attend the training classes. It will be a guiding force in the hands of the women that were not any less the men in earnings or in any other field that will be beneficial to the family.

Two women instructors have been appointed, one for teaching cutting and tailoring and the other for embroidery. 20 sewing machines have been operating in two centuries.  All the essential materials and accessories for the training are being provided to the beneficiaries. Two classrooms were provided, one for the tailoring and the other for cutting.
