ABOUT US
About UsTISC is a voluntary organization that has been working for the past 30 years in the development sector covering 3 districts and now it was focused on Hyderabad city which is the capital city for Andhra Pradesh and would like to focus on the youth and technology issues. Information & Technology NGOs harness the power of innovative new technologies and put them to use for common causes. While many of these organizations focus on improving access to information, many of the leading information & technology NGOs have come up with various ingenious ways to put technology to work in the name of human rights. Although the field is young, the successes of many of the first information & technology NGO pioneers are sure to encourage the growth of new ventures. Perhaps the most visible of this first wave of information & technology NGO’ is the media information which runs Wikipedia and was given the top spot in Global Journal’s first-ever rankings for the top 100 NGOs. Other NGOs that are working on technology issue also provides a similar service by granting individuals the power to easily distribute photographs online while maintaining control over copyrights. Many information and technology NGOs hire a small number of employees due to the fact that most of these organizations do not do as much hands-on work as other NGOs. Nevertheless, they offer a different way to help an NGO by hiring software developers and programmers as well as legal and administrative staff. Furthermore, the recent proliferation of information and technology NGOs makes it a great field for individuals looking to start their own organizations. All the above are at the top level and centralized only but no one is concentrating on the bottom level and useful for the grass root people. TISC is concentrating on the bottom level and aids youth in mobilizing resources and information relates to technology and other related issues for the dissemination of the information.

Genesis of TISC
History and Background
TISC works in the Andhra Pradesh of India and is currently one of the medium-sized NGOs in India. It was founded by a group of development activists and social workers who had a background in rural development. Its unique genesis resulted in two advantages for the foundation of the organization; it initiated its program with people possessing prior field experience and owing to the specific background it inherited a broad and comprehensive outlook encompassing a socio-economic and environmental development perspective. In 1983 TISC started its activities initially taking the rural wage issues of agro-based labor, women’s and child rights through a rights-based approach. These approaches were upheld by the organization in its later programs.
Organizational Beliefs
TISC has similar beliefs to those for which it was initially founded. These include issues related to wage movement, land rights, livelihoods, food security & good health, women’s rights, empowerment, fundamentalism, injustice, and market exploitation. It is TISC’s perception that poverty is created by many interconnected and interdependent problems. TISC believes that the bonds between these problems can only be broken and development made truly sustainable by addressing many of the issues simultaneously. Most NGOs have chosen to specialize their expertise in one or two areas but TISC has retained its emphasis on the holistic approach. TISC believes it must work in all sectors of the development context as shown in the diagram to be effective and sustainable.
Furthermore, TISC believes that the community will only truly embrace development if they themselves identify their needs and lead the process of change.
TISC takes a very strong stand against corruption and bribery. It is not open to either giving or receiving bribes. TISC’s stand in this area is now widely recognized in the community. TISC encourages other organizations to follow their lead.
A brief review of the origin of TISC for the welfare of downtrodden and economically backward families in order to work for the welfare and development of the poor people and bring them up above the poverty line and make them self‑reliant. This organization was founded in NIDADAVOLE town (90 thousand population) in 1982. Its activities extend to different areas mostly in rural. It is under suspicion of this society that FREDERICK NATHAN commenced rendering selfless and entering service for the upliftment of poor people in several fields. His concentration was diverted to the Socioeconomic and Social-cultural aspects covering educations, technical, medical, and other similar spheres.
TISC RDs. Was founded and is managed by a highly committed team of dedicated professional and trained social workers and having better relations with medical doctors locally for TISCaign speakers in the rural villages on health care awareness. Frederick Nathan is fully qualified in all concerned spheres and is highly proficient in his education career, he has been trained in many programs
The organization’s main aim and motto are “Serve In the Love”, Love one another”, Jesus speeches, and works related to Social activities.
Way forward……
The founder of the organization was very sincere and committed social work attitude and could not confine to leave the organization in his ages, as the aging is the main constraint to him and could not operate the chief functionary activities and handover to second-line generation for sustaining of the organization. But the sincere efforts were all in vain, the organization could not reach the objectives and goals as envisaged. He introspected himself and with a strong conviction brought his son to take the responsibility who had engaged in the software field by completing his Engineering graduation and also had experience in working at the USA in a reputed company and lot of experience in updating the technology. Though initially reluctant to come to this sector, by the motivation of the father, he committed to take the charge of the organization which was established for a good social cause and resigned from the reputed organization like IBM and engaged in the organizational developmental activities. Now he would like to move this towards the goal of the organization by value-adding the technology adaptation in the emerging social issues for enhancing the quality of work.

Direction
TISC’s current strategy has a strong emphasis on the Rights-Based Approach and less so on primary service provided. This continues a trend that has been established in the successive plans during the 30 years of TISC’s existence.
Although NGO’s play a substantial and vital role towards the current development needs, the long term success of the country lies with the ability of the Government and Administration to deliver it’s commitments to the various National and International strategy papers and declarations. There is an increasing trend for International partnerships and monetary aid to be targeted at infrastructure development, economic growth, and government services. As such, agents for change within the NGO sector, media, private sector, and civil society should increase domestic pressure for reform.
The most successful reforms will be those generated by an increasingly mobilized and organized civil society. Facilitation of stronger GO and NGO partnerships will provide more and better quality services to the poorest people in Andhra Pradesh.
Management Systems
Organizational Management
The constitution of TISC has given the supreme authority of the organization to the general body (GB) who approves budgets and major policy amendments. The day-to-day running of the organization is overseen by the Executive Director with the assistance of the Program Operating Cell (POC). The POC consists of the heads of department and administrative and accounting sections. The POC meets regularly (normally weekly) to discuss current issues, policy and to make recommendations to the EC for their approval. The POC implement the decisions of the EC and develop plans for running the program activities.
There is a further layer of management, predominately comprising 2 Unit Offices; Each Unit Office is led by OutReach
Workers under supervision of Project co-coordinators (PC’s) with the jurisdiction of Office. At this level, the management is decentralized with each of the PCs located at individual field offices. The PC’s are responsible for the implementation of the program in their respective region and are delegated to take most of the routine decisions. The POC meet with the PC’s monthly at the monthly coordination meeting.
TISC’s organizational structure has been updated to reflect both its new strategy and also to assist with the development of good management and leadership practices. The new structure has been designed to accommodate the growth that is planned during the next 5 years. This diagram reflects the intended structure of the organization for the entire program implementation period although the numbers of staff shown are for the end of the period.
Financial Management
TISC has its own financial manual and procedures. The accountant is responsible for maintaining and controlling the budget, allocation of overheads, and for preparation of financial reports. Independently the internal auditors check and advise on corrective measures to ensure an accurate and transparent system.
Planning Monitoring and Evaluation (PME)
The purpose of the PME department is to provide effective support in regard to the information, decision making, and activities executed by the TISC personnel.
The PME department has a critical role to play in increasing the effectiveness of TISC’s programs and projects. It is the department responsible for facilitating the planning processes, tracking progress versus targets, and assessing the effectiveness of activities. Although the PME department is not cored in the sense of actually implementing development work at the field level, it is a vital support system to enable the core work to be done.
PME is a department that requires a continuous feedback loop with planning activities being adjusted in response to the interpretation of evaluation studies.
The PME department is the central coordination point for all qualitative and quantitative program-related data. The information is collated which allows it to be used in an integrated manner, giving a view of the bigger picture. The information is reviewed monthly at all management levels.
